Role Overview
Xlides is a post-production studio for tech companies and venture capital firms, and short-form is a big part of what we make for them. We take long conversations with founders and investors and cut them into clips people actually watch. These are names the industry pays attention to, so every clip has to be good.
As a Short Form Editor, you'll turn full podcast episodes and interviews into vertical clips for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. We handle the clients, the briefs and the feedback. Your job is the edit.
What you'll do
- Cut vertical clips from podcasts and interviews with founders and investors
- Go through the raw footage and find the moments worth clipping: a sharp take, a good story, a line people will repeat
- Open every clip on its strongest line and keep the pacing tight to the end
- Add captions, motion graphics and sound design that fit each show, either building the look yourself or working within styles we've already set
- Handle the sound engineering so dialogue is clean and easy to follow on a phone
- Own post-production on every clip through to final export for each platform
What we're looking for
We work with some of the most closely watched companies and investors in tech, and we're building a team that can match that level.
- A portfolio of short-form clips you've cut. Links to live posts are best.
- A good eye for which moment in an hour-long conversation is worth a clip
- Confident in Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Clean, readable captions. Clips have to work with the sound on or off.
- You keep up with what's working for tech content on Shorts and Reels
- Reliable on deadlines
Nice to have
- Experience clipping podcasts or long-form interviews
- An interest in tech, startups or venture capital, which makes it easier to spot the moment that matters
